Indie pop group Fever Charm may have been raised in Oakland, but the current Silverlake residents’ live-fast-die-young garage rock evokes LA brown bag socials and sweaty nights of wreckless abandon. When you hear the phrase “Sounds of the Summer” this is what they mean. Rock never dies, and in that moment, neither do you.

If the music has the energy of young punks living the dream, that could be because Fever Charm has its foundations in high school, where singer Ari Berl, bassist Yianni Anastos-Prastacos, and guitarist Theo Quayle all met through mutual friends after the realization that they shared the same birthday. Drummer JT Gagarin joined the group while they attended university in Boston. They released their first EP (appropriately titled Sound of Summer) in 2014 and are currently warming up their latest release, the EP Retrograde.

The following is their latest, the pulsing “Never Had Before.” See Fever Charm today at The Resident in DTLA for a music event produced by Beating Lights. Purchase tickets HERE.

You can also see Fever Charm at Los Globos on Tuesday, July 26th. Get tickers for those HERE.
