When you discover an artist that makes a truly beautiful song (“Heart of California”) and then upon going deeper into the album (Bliss) you find a song titled “I Will Die Alone” you make it a point to get to their show. This was the case with Shane Alexander who took to the Second Stage at The Hotel Café one Friday night for a showcase that included Ted Russell Kamp and Dead Rock West. That night was showcased by Shane’s deep-well-of-dark-emotion filled songs that reminds one of Van Zandt and Kristofferson. Shane Alexander is another great addition to that particular brand of music that could be described as “country by the Pacific.”
