Ryan Genovese Goes Large With #KaiJune

0 Comments 05 July 2017

The complete collection of Ventura-based illustrator Ryan Genovese’s #KaiJune sketch series.

by Daniel Barron

Whether it’s #Inktober, #MerMay, #JuneFae, or the like, nothing juices those artistic pecs like the discipline required from a month-long sketch challenge. Such a concept even led to the creation of our own Yay! LA Original Art Series, which splintered off of the positive reception to Michael Ramstead’s Horror Movie A Day project.

Today’s sketch challenge showcase features the work of someone whose style should be familiar to those who followed along with our two initial Original Art Series, Ventura-based illustrator Ryan Genovese. His bright, clean graphic style has often been applied to visualizations of giant robots, superheroes, and men in rubber suits, all obsessions which he was free to indulge for his self-imposed #KaiJune challenge last month. Enjoy the complete set below, no crappy dubbing necessary.

View more works by Genovese in our old Artist Spotlight, and if you like what you see below you can purchase some of them in t-shirt form on the artist’s TeePublic page.
